One of the most well-known facts about firemen is that they keep their trucks clean and shiny! Upon returning from a fire, they tidy their turnout gear, lay the hoses out to dry, and wash all of the soot and grime off their trucks. There was a three-alarm blaze at our house this afternoon, and the Little Nguyens just returned from doing their job. The pumper, aerial ladder truck and fire semi are all getting a washdown! I gave the boys damp rags to shine up their vehicles, but the First Little Nguyen said that would hardly get the job done. When I asked what would, he replied, "Spit, Mom!" We won't be cleaning our trucks with that!
I keep telling myself that God made me the mother of boys for a reason.
