All Aboard!

It doesn't get much easier than gingerbread in a box! At Target, we found a fun Gingerbread Train, a twist on the traditional gingerbread house. It came with pre-baked cookie shapes, colored and white frosting, and oodles of candies. Long gone are the days, of course, of baking one's own gingerbread and mixing up a frosting that doesn't run. It's a highly engineered cookie express, and the Little Nguyens were ready to climb aboard!

Tonight after dinner, the Little Nguyens assembled their Gingerbread Train. With a little help from Mommy in the frosting/glue department, they were able to make the pieces stick together. Then, the real fun began....stick one candy on, eat one for myself, stick on another, feed one to my brother!

By the time it was all finished, the train was dripping with sweets and oozing white "snow". The Little Nguyens even thought of filling the tender with "coal" (marshmallows) and the First Little Nguyen had coupled the engine to the tender with a chain of green frosting. We are all about the details, aren't we? Boy was it fun! The First Little Nguyen exclaimed, "This is the coolest thing we have ever built!" and the Second Little Nguyen quoted his favorite movie: "All Aboard the Polar Express!"
