Big smiles with Aunt Janet
My sister, Janet, and two of my nieces came to visit for a long weekend in June. Despite the intense heat that weekend, we had a wonderful, relaxing time! Of course, we stayed up way too late, chatting with into the wee hours of the morning around my kitchen table. (Who needs sleep?! we thought. We can sleep in July!) We met Aunt Susan and Uncle John at The Pit for dinner on Friday evening. Mmm...nothing like some southern barbeque! We took so many good pictures that night but, strangely, we did not get a photo of the three sisters! That always happens. We start munching and talking and....bam!...the weekend is over and we don't have pictures of ourselves with which to remember the occasion! The Little Nguyens with cousin Kate

On Saturday morning, we enjoyed brunch at Foster's Market and wandered around the quaint little shops in Carrboro. The heat was pretty intense by then, and we were afraid our beloved midwestern girls would melt, so we headed back to Raleigh.
Yay! New Pez from Uncle Mark!
That evening, Aunt Janet was roped into playing about a thousand games of Connect Four and Chutes and Ladders with the Second Little Nguyen (Aahh! Fresh meat, he was thinking.), which she was happy to play with him. Three beautiful ladies

The Little Nguyens love being with family, and they love when someone comes to stay with us. Normally, our guest bedroom is referred to as Grandma's Room or Aunt Becky & Uncle Phil's Room or Aunt Hoa's Room, but now it has a new name: Aunt Janet's Room. Because we live so far from our families, I'm so glad the Little Nguyens can appreciate the time we do get to spend together. We wish Janet and the girls could have stayed longer, but we are so thankful they came! Don't stay away too long now, ya'll!

Such nice pictures as always! It looks like a good time was had by all. Wish North Carolina was closer!
