QUICK! Don't blink! OOHH, no! You blinked! Well, luckily for you, I was able to snap a few photos of the Littlest Nguyen during the first snow of 2008! If you squint and concentrate really hard, the photographs may show you a few flakes floating through the air. If not, just pretend! It actually did snow. Really. It's not the 12 inches on top of ice that Grandma and Grandpa have, but it makes for a novel moment in an otherwise ordinary, snowless day in the South!
When the First Little Nguyen got home from school, he "excavated" this block of ice from a plastic tub we left out in the backyard. The tub collected water during the recent rains, and with the recent freezing temps...presto! A nice oval ice cube was the result. Many icy science experiments followed this frozen discovery, all of them involving water, Ziploc bags and food coloring. You can just imagine...colored ice in the name of science!
