For the past few days, the Second Little Nguyen has been a bit under the weather with a sore throat and fever. We paid a visit to the pediatrician yesterday morning, and after a RapidStrep test, a CBC and a few other miscellaneous blood tests, she had ruled out strep and mono. It seems whatever that has the Littlest Nguyen down is just a virus and he'll have to wear it out. After having his throat scraped (his least favorite thing since he has an overactive gag reflex!), his finger pricked, and being poked and prodded for 15 minutes, he was not fancying the experience. Just as he was about to melt down, saying, "I don't want them to poke me anymore!", the good doctor returned with a rubber dinosaur and a bouncy ball to reward his bravery!
Later in the day, Aunt Susan and Uncle John brought an even better surprise -- the best medicine -- ice cream bars! From the looks of it, I am sure you can tell he enjoyed his frozen treat, and the cold ice cream probably felt good on his throat.
