"Noclars"

Some blue jays have recently taken up residence in one of our trees. They are daring birds, landing often on the kitchen windowsill, demanding our attention. Well, the amazingly spring-like weather here this week has drawn us outside. The Littlest Nguyen loves to sit up on his playset to watch the birds, and he has discovered how to use his little noclars (binoculars) to watch them with! He thinks he knows which tree they live in, and he observes them quietly whenever he sees the birds swooping through the yard. When I ask him what the birds are doing, he says, "Dey ahh watchin' me."
