Today we watched the First Little Nguyen jump his little heart out at his school's jump rope performance! He has been going to practice on Thursday mornings for the past several months, and yesterday's event was the highlight! I have to say, it was a big committment for someone his age to get up early every Thursday morning in order to make it to jump rope practice before school. It wasn't easy on those cold, frosty winter days, so it means a lot that he was able to follow through with his promise. It was good for him to meet other kids from his school, and great exercise for him. In February, he even participated in the "Jump Rope for Heart" fundraiser. He keeps practicing the jumping, which hasn't been the easiest to learn, and it is great to see his determination to do it better. His school has a jump rope team that performs at various school functions, and the First Little Nguyen wants very badly to do that as he gets older. We were so proud to watch him get on stage yesterday and "showcase" his skills. He may not be doing double-dutch yet, but it took a lot of courage for him to show what he could do in front of a room full of strange parents, teachers and students. His confidence was evident, and that makes us so happy. Good job First Little Nguyen! Keep jumping!
I will add video later!
