No zoo trip is complete without a carload of kids singing along to that Raffi tune! My niece, Hannah, has been here visiting from Colorado, and one thing she really wanted to do while she was here was go to the zoo. It had been about a year and a half since the Little Nguyens have been there, so we ventured out one day last week to spend the afternoon there! It was cool, although humid due to the morning rain that day, but that didn't stop us from visiting each and every exhibit. Our young tour guide, the First Little Nguyen, skipped not one sign, description, feeding or sighting. Really, it was sweet to see him in his element. He planned the day, right down to the t-shirt he was wearing. The First Little Nguyen adores animals of all kinds, loves learning facts and tidbits about them, and cares passionately about their treatment. I can see him someday becoming a zoologist. He has a particular fascination with felines of all kinds. Strangely, Chi and I both detest (well, that word might be a bit strong) cats. But, the First Little Nguyen? Just call him the cat whisperer. Meow.
