The Little Nguyens had a visit from Chi's parents, Ong and Ba, this past weekend. Ong is an excellent mathematician, and, of course, one of the first things he wanted to know was how the First Little Nguyen was doing with his math. As soon as his skills were assessed by the Great Teacher, they sat down in the dining room together to learn multiplication tables! The First Little Nguyen listened intently, immediately demonstrating his understanding of the concept and the number patterns involved. Ong was impressed with his sustained attention and hard work. Having sufficiently completing his assignment from Ong, he proudly showed off his "A++" paper to everyone in the house, and then mounted his paper for exhibition on the side of our refrigerator with some of his "Best Work" papers from school.
His good marks at Ong's School of Math earned him a visit to Goodberry's for ice cream! I don't know who enjoyed the lesson (and its rewards) more...Ong or his Superstar! Columbia University -- here he comes!
