Afternoon Delight

On Monday, the Second Little Nguyen spent a little time with his favorite second cousin, Noah. Noah and his parents were in town for a short visit to see Grandma B. We had lunch together and did a little light shopping while Noah napped in his stroller. The Second Little Nguyen loved playing nanny, pushing Noah's stroller and successfully avoiding any run-ins with objects or passersby!

It was neat to see him in a position of responsibility since he is usually the one being "taken care of" by his older brother. I think it made him feel very proud, and he kept telling me, "I am a wole model!" A thousand times hearing us remind the First Little Nguyen that he is a role model must have meant something. I guess the Second Little Nguyen doesn't mind accepting that responsibility! Very sweet....

When Aunt Suzy suggested a visit to the ice cream parlor as we neared the end of our shopping excursion, the Second Little Nguyen lended his support to that idea! A long afternoon of shopping can leave a boy in need of a treat! By that time, the excitment and novelty had worn off the new Life is Good t-shirt and pair of blue Crocs we bought for spring. Chocolate ice cream in a cone was a sweet treat. He hasn't had a lot of experience with ice cream in a cone. Usually, he prefers to eat it from a cup, but not today! We all giggled when someone pointed out his resemblance to his beloved stuffed monkey, Milo. The chocolate ice cream melting all over his face made him look like he had a brown muzzle. It was even in his nose! Thank goodness for Wet Ones!

After shopping, we headed back to Aunt Suzy and Uncle John's. Baby Noah spent a little time outside, discovering the beauty of his Grandma's yard. Remember when a pine needle or a twig was interesting? I took about a thousand photos of him, and every one was more precious than the first. I think his parents should enter him in Parents magazine's monthly "Cutest Kid in the Universe" contest! His sweet blue eyes are so expressive, and that toothy grin makes him irresistible. He would surely win!
