Happy Turkey Day!

The Four Nguyens had a very relaxing Thanksgiving Day, and a simple one at that. Our feast began a little early as we awoke to the fragrant scent of Grandma's famous Maple Nut Ring (only the biggest, butteriest cinnamon roll you can think of!), and it wasn't too difficult to rouse ourselves from sleep after a whiff of that mouth-watering smell. The Little Nguyens practically ran to the table when they realized what it was! Daddy had an early tennis match, so we saved some for him to eat when he returned later in the morning.

After lazing around, reading some Turkey Day stories, perusing the newspaper and enjoying some quiet time together, we got dressed and went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. Daddy and the Little Nguyens played some football while Mommy, Ellie and Betsy cheered from the sidelines! While the Second Little Nguyen and Daddy took a Thanksgiving snooze, Mommy cooked in the kitchen and the First Little Nguyen wrote a letter to Santa Claus.

Aunt Suzy and Uncle John arrived mid-afternoon, and the grazing began. Our Thanksgiving feast was scrumptious, to say the least, and we all felt like stuffed turkeys ourselves. We delayed the dessert buffet until we were well into watching "Kung Fu Panda" (what a cute movie!) later in the evening.

Although we wish we could have spent this holiday with both of our big families, at the same time we are thankful to have had a day where we didn't have to go anywhere and do anything in particular. We just enjoyed being together. Sometimes those quiet, seemingly uneventful days are just what we need.
